I think I need a cleanse...

I'm thinking about a juice fast. But I don't know much about it. I brought home some Naked - Green Machine this evening, and it's all fruit plus a bunch of green stuff - spirulina, clorella, green tea extract, weat grass, blue green algae, etc..). I think I could probably manage a day on this stuff - I've certainly gone longer on less (like when I had to prepare for a colonoscopy....).

Susan, if you're reading me...can I do this? I need a pep talk. I want to feel better than I feel now. I want to stop hearing my joints talking to me all the time. I want to feel like there's nothing sitting there festering in my intestines...

Can I do this?

That naked green stuff if full of sugar. If you want to juice fast you have to juice your own green juice with no added sugar. YOu should do 3 green (no carrot, too much sugar) and 3 fruit. To make it easier you can throw that master cleanse in lemon juice, cayenne and maple syrup. I have done it for 7 days tops, it rocks you are superwomen in yoga, anything is possible until the last few days when you are dying and need to eat :)

Ever had a colonic? I feel like it'd be interesting to do. Not that I want to come down with "chronic bowel obsession", which yogis have been known to fall victim to.

According to ayurveda it's not a good idea to fast when it's cold outside.....you may want to wait until you have a few days of warm weather on the horizon. It's freezing here, which means it'll probably be cold there in a day or two....

I live by a duck pond. I used to live by the East River. I don't work. I used to work a lot. Now, not so much. I used to teach a lot of yoga. Now not so much. I still practice a lot of yoga though. A LOT. I love my kids, being outdoors, taking photos, reading magazines, writing and stirring the pot. Enjoy responsibly.
