The ladies who lunch

officially include me. At least today. Practiced, spent an hour and more money than I care to discuss at Bed, Bath and Beyond, and then met my best friend, K, for lunch at Maruzella on Third Avenue and 74th. It was all chicks. Mostly tall and blonde. Except for me and K, that is, both of us being fairly petite and definitely not blonde. Had delicious salads, some warm and satisfying whole grain breads and then I snuck in a bag of my vanilla chai for desert. I'm trying to stick to just hot water with the chai except first thing in the morning before practice. That's right...I am criminalizing once again, sipping a cup of vanilla soy chai on the way to practice. Let me tell you: it works. Warmed me up inside, kept me from feeling that empty starving feeling and completely and totally eliminated my coffee jones. Kaput. The thought of coffee is absolutley disgusting right now. I can't say how long it will last, but for now, joe and I are history.

More later: it's a Lost night, and the Husband is not going to be home, so I can cuddle up with Lewis, watch Lost and then snuggle under my new 600 thread count sheets, not that I know what the difference between 600 and 300 is (I think that 300 is luxe, but 600 gives the sheets a satiny feel, if I am not mistaken, although I might be).

I live by a duck pond. I used to live by the East River. I don't work. I used to work a lot. Now, not so much. I used to teach a lot of yoga. Now not so much. I still practice a lot of yoga though. A LOT. I love my kids, being outdoors, taking photos, reading magazines, writing and stirring the pot. Enjoy responsibly.
