To an old friend who has recently suffered a loss

I recently happened to hear that an old friend of mine, someone I have not spoken to in a couple of years now, suffered a loss...his father passed away last month. Although we parted not on the best of terms, hearing of my old friend's loss struck a sympathetic chord in me...my father is still alive, thank God, but who knows how long we have with our loved ones?

I would have liked to have extended an expression of sympathy, but I no longer have my friend's contact info, so I figured I would just send it out right from here, into the universe.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences on your loss, and may you find peace in your memories of your father.

I live by a duck pond. I used to live by the East River. I don't work. I used to work a lot. Now, not so much. I used to teach a lot of yoga. Now not so much. I still practice a lot of yoga though. A LOT. I love my kids, being outdoors, taking photos, reading magazines, writing and stirring the pot. Enjoy responsibly.
