a metaphor

You can't turn a natural backbender into a natural forward bender. Nor should you bother to try.

But you might be able to help the natural backbender to rejoice in her natural backbendiness and to learn to experience more joy and even possibly newfound freedom in her forward bends.

So which one does that make you?

Believe it or not, Tiff, this post has NOTHING to do with you at all.

It was something that CRON Architect wrote that made me think about our tendency to try to change ourselves. Buddhists like Pema Chodron believe that we suffer less when we accept who we are and don't try to change it. Then we evolve naturally.

Again, Tiff, even though you have a nice backbend, this post has nothing whatsoever to do with you at all.

About Me

My photo
Northern Westchester, New York, United States
I live by a duck pond. I used to live by the East River. I don't work. I used to work a lot. Now, not so much. I used to teach a lot of yoga. Now not so much. I still practice a lot of yoga though. A LOT. I love my kids, being outdoors, taking photos, reading magazines, writing and stirring the pot. Enjoy responsibly.
