Hi Lauren
I am a NYC ashtangi and I found your blog this morning and truly enjoyed reading about your experiences.
I have been practicing 4 years.
I never thougth I would get past MARI D.
And then I never thought I would get past bhujapidasana. I had a very strict teacher (still do:) and di dnot get injured because Iearned the asanas slowly.
And I thought primary would be my goal for this lifetime as I could not do get lotus to be able to do Garba Pindansa.
Thank goodness I did not prove myself right.
We are lucky here in NYC. And you sound like a great yoga teacher yourself.
I think all yoga is good. Yet this-- is special.

Thanks Grace...I'm glad you found my blog...I have wondered if the Primary Series is all I can ever hope to accomplish, since it is hard to imagine reaching Pasasana when Marichi D is still such a reach for me. Mark did say to me that the fact that I can bind with help means that I am basically doing it, but still...it would be so nice if I could move through the Marichis without needing so much help....I am sure there is a lesson there....about needing help, about self-reliance...anyway, thanks for writing, and hope you keep on reading! Namaste, Lauren
It was brought to my attention by a reader that some of what I had written in this post was not a fair presentation of facts. Since it is possible that those reading this blog might view what I write as factual, rather than simply my observations and opinions, I deleted the post and all of the comments that related to anything controversial in the post.
I really do not want to offend anyone, or get invade anyone's privacy. Hope this helps.
Namaste,
Lauren
