Nice job Lauren! It's your best article yet. I feel bad saying this- it's your first Huff-Po article that I've read all the way through. But this one is much better than your previous posts.

Since you've stepped up your game I hope you won't mind a minor critique. There's some disagreement regarding ending clauses with prepositions. If you're always mindful of your prepositions, though, you can use them more flexibly and they'll work out okay. An example of a killer is...

...if skinny is not exactly where you're at...

I understand you want to keep it colloquial but this instance of the prepositional 'at' is a bomber. It's not only a matter of grammer -- it has a lot to do with rythm too. You could modify this to say: if skinny is not exactly where you are and that would work a bit better.

Keep up the good work!

Grammer, Carl? Rythm?

Just teasing. I left a comment on Susan's blog the other day with a "your" instead of a "you're", I think it was. Oh, the shame.

But you know dangling "ats" make me all squingey, too. They're my personal peeve. Anyway, off to read the article, now!

I live by a duck pond. I used to live by the East River. I don't work. I used to work a lot. Now, not so much. I used to teach a lot of yoga. Now not so much. I still practice a lot of yoga though. A LOT. I love my kids, being outdoors, taking photos, reading magazines, writing and stirring the pot. Enjoy responsibly.
