Bad production values aside...

See Laksmi? You CAN try this at home.

what i really like is that you have the tv on in the background! You went over with one leg first; i think i can do that. I will tell diver my plans of home practice and he can help me learn to land safely. Really, though, you've got to stop trying to come up from the back bend. See how bent your knees are? That's one reason why you are pitching forward. The other thing causing that is that you are bringing your head up, not leaving it LAST. pretend that your eyes love the floor so much that they don't want to leave it. Try to get more in your legs--straighten them! straighten them! thanks for the showing off.

I can't help it that my kids were had a playdate over, and they were swarming me. Wherever I went, there they were. The tv was tuned to The Suite Life of zack and cody, I think, but I'm not sure because I am able to tune that crap out. Theoretically, you should be able to practice yoga in the middle of Times Square and be totally undisturbed mentally.

I am not sure I agree with you about stopping trying to come up from a backbend. How do you learn if you don't keep trying? I am getting better at it, very slowly. I am not as bad as I used to be, that's for sure.

I am a loooooooong way off from coming up into a handstand with both feet planted. I can tell that the roots of it are there, but I don't even bother trying right now.

This was just fun - harking back to stuff I used to do in my childhood. Not part of my yoga practice.

You still have that crappy little flat panel? You're family is going to go blind watching that thing. Get one of these bad boys, the street price just went under $2K. You'll never buy another movie ticket again.

no, i meant that when you go over, you go over one leg at a time. It's nice and ballsy, though--my balls retracted at the sight of it. what I mean with the backbending is that you are solidifying your bad habit and are not developing the proper habit. that's why the assisted dropbacks would be best for you right now. okay, off i go.

oh, and you need to post a picture of the room--i can't see it properly to criticize it. :)

I go over with both legs most of the time. That time, I was trying to walk up into a handstand and stay there for a few breaths, but I immediately lost my balance and went over into a backbend.

Monsieur Lafitte, I will NOT spend 2k on a tv. No way. NO NO NO!!!! Not when the husband just brought home this behemoth.

Well I guess it doesn't help that I made a typo, that should have been $3K. But entry level hi-def projectors start in the $700s. Anyways projectors get you probably around four times the square footage per dollar, for equivalent picture quality. Plus they take up essentially zero space in your living area. Just a couple fun facts.

I live by a duck pond. I used to live by the East River. I don't work. I used to work a lot. Now, not so much. I used to teach a lot of yoga. Now not so much. I still practice a lot of yoga though. A LOT. I love my kids, being outdoors, taking photos, reading magazines, writing and stirring the pot. Enjoy responsibly.
